Viele Menschen machen sich Sorgen, wie es weitergeht. Naturkatastrophen, Armut, Hungersnöte, Kriege, Terrorismus, Flüchtlingsströme, Umweltverschmutzung, Korruption, Ausbeutung, Landverbrauch, Wissensexplosion, Kurzlebigkeit, Abschottung und Grenzzäune, steiles Wachstum der Hilfsbedürftigkeit, notwendige Ausweitung der Hilfsprogramme, zunehmende Ungerechtigkeit, Unehrlichkeit und Unsicherheit – all dies kann mit Recht Zukunftsängste auslösen. In den reichen Ländern wenden sich die Menschen immer mehr vom HERRN und seinen Ordnungen ab. Ich frage mich, warum so viele nicht an die Zukunftsoffenbarungen in den Heiligen Schriften glauben. Andererseits beten viele Gläubige täglich um das Wiederkommen Christi. Davor liegen aber furchtbare Siegelgerichte, Zornschalengerichte und Posaunengerichte.
Lasst uns doch umkehren! Der HERR gibt uns täglich mehrfach Gelegenheiten dazu.
Der Prophet Jeremia verzweifelte fast an der Haltung seines Volkes und weinte über das, was sie zu erwarten hatten. Er hielt ihm den Spiegel vor:
„Wenn mir jemand ein Nachtquartier für Reisende in der Wüste gäbe, dann würde ich mein Volk verlassen, von ihnen weggehen? Denn sie sind alle Ehebrecher, eine Gesellschaft von Verrätern.
Sie spannen ihre Zunge wie einen Lügenbogen. Nicht mit Wahrheit herrschen sie im Land. Von einem Bösen schlittern sie zum nächsten Bösen, mich aber erkennen sie nicht, spricht der HERR. Ein jeder hüte sich vor seinem Nächsten, und vertraue keinem Bruder. Denn jeder Bruder ist hinterlistig, und jeder Nächste redet schlecht über dich. Jeder betrügt jeden, was wahr ist, sagen sie nicht. Sie lehren ihre Zunge zu lügen und mühen sich ab, böse zu handeln. Du lebst mitten im Betrug. Vor Betrug weigern sie sich mich zu erkennen, spricht der HERR.
Darum so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, ich schmelze sie, ich prüfe sie. Hinterhältig reden sie miteinander, täuschen Freundschaft und Wohlwollen vor, aber insgeheim stellen sie sich gegenseitig Fallen. Soll ich ein solches Verhalten nicht bestrafen? – spricht der HERR, soll meine Seele diese Nation nicht ahnden?“ (Jeremia 9, 1-8)
„Und der Engel des ewigen Evangeliums wird verkünden: Fürchtet Gott und gebt ihm die Ehre! Denn die Stunde seines Gerichts ist gekommen. Und betet den an, der Himmel und Erde und Meer und Wasserquellen geschaffen hat. “ (Offenbarung 14,7)
